Rubio joins a growing roster of prominent Californians supporting Kounalakis’ bid for Lt. Governor

San Francisco – Today, California Assemblywoman Blanca Rubio formally endorsed Eleni Kounalakis for Lieutenant Governor. Rubio, whose district overlaps that of State Senator Ed Hernandez, praised Kounalakis for her commitment to affordable housing, quality education and immigrants’ rights.

"We need more qualified women like Eleni Kounalakis in our state government," said Assemblywoman Rubio. "As the daughter of an immigrant who started out as a farm worker, Eleni is an inspiring example of the American Dream, and like so many of us, she understands what it means to work hard to succeed. I know she will be a champion for working parents, immigrants, DREAMers and the most vulnerable communities. Eleni has what it takes to fight for all Californians."

"I'm so proud to have Assemblywoman Rubio’s support behind this campaign for a better, stronger California,” said Kounalakis. "She is dedicated to fighting for better education access and affordability so that all Californians have opportunities to succeed. As Lt. Governor, I look forward to working alongside leaders like Blanca on the issues affecting California.”
